First year in the past 4 years that I am going to miss it... just cant stand that convention center, it's a complete PITA to navigate!

that blows - I would have liked to have met you there.

yeah my sister lives there so I get to save on hotel bills....plus foreigner is playing wednesday night for the private party for the convention - woot

They were in San Fran a few years back and I took a group of folks out there - the after hours stuff was good, it's just the Moscone center is a real PITA for a conference that size. They did the private party at some private island just on the other side of the bay bridge... was pretty slick. Cant remember who headlined it to save my arse.

Hotel's are a tough thing there too... we stayed at the Palomar, about 3 blocks away from the convention center, great place, but was expensive (about $300/n).

Unfortunately, Xen is headed to the same spot next year, so am going to miss VMWorld and Citrix iForum (or what ever they name it this time) this year.

Sept 3rd the i80 bay bridge closes as well, going to make traffic a total nightmare all around the bay area!

bart from the lafayette station so does not matter to me - but yes that will be a pain for most.

hotels are not too bad this time - I am stayign in the city on the last night since I have an early flight and dont want to bart it all the way or have my sister have to get up at 4 am to take me and I picked up a place for 119 per night.

Hotels are actually dirt cheap right now, looks like you are set but for anyone else, check the hotel sites direct. Starwood, Hilton, Marriott, Intercontinental, Hyatt, all are running great specials, double bonus points/stays etc if you are into travel and staying places its a good time to stockpile points
