Setting Folder Permission
I know that CHMOD a file or folder to 777 is bad because it's a loophole for hackers or bad people to exploit the server.. So my host provider, made the server too strict. Too strict that some files of my clients in the server are not working.

Hi Kisty. I believe this should belong to technical issues
Also I believe you must be using suphp & suexec where folders must be set to 775.
You just need to change the owner. with suphp & suexec, you can chmod folders to 775 but writable. the command is chown.

Sounds like your provider is running SuEXEC which would cause a 500 error.
What scripts are your clients running that are not working?
