I'm looking to spend £10 per month on a VPS for a website I will be hosting that will be fairly popular. By popular I mean 500+ hits per day to start with the potential to grow very quickly.
We need 256/512mb of RAM, 20GB minimum HDD space and really, as much bandwidth as we can get for the price. EU / US isn't a problem, but if it's in the US, we'd prefer East coast as our target audience are primarily Europeans.
Please don't just say check the offers forum, as I have and I'll continue to do so. I just wonder if there are companies that I've missed that don't advertise in that forum I'm looking to pay via PayPal and I am looking to purchase today to replace to the 2 awful servers I have with connectswitch.
The are east coast (FLA) and we don't currently use them as we needed to consolidate in the EU.
But we had 12+ VPSs with them at one point and by any metric - service, uptime, feature set, infrastructure, etc...they were one of the best we ever worked with. If they offered UE hosting we would still be with them.
They take PayPal and turn up is instant. So are upgrades, even up through dedicated.
I don't about your price range though. They aren't cheap and, frankly, For 10 gbp a month I think finding someone that can provide the scalability and reliability you are after is going to be a hard sell.
Have been waiting for live support for 5 minutes now, when the website says staff are online. Not a promising start, I must say!
As a fellow ship jumper from connectswitch I figured I'd post.
I signed up for an iFuse VPS, 96 minutes later the VPS setup email arrived, but the password didn't work.
General support staff were not able to change the password, but someone higher in the chain was able to change it 19 hours later.
I haven't got mine completely live yet but it is responsive and I'm able to upload to it at a good rate, I should have it running within my cluster later.
My VPS is the little 128mb one with CentOS, running just apache + php and vsftpd, with no panel.
iFusehosting get my vote, I've used them in the past and I had my VPS with them for a good 8 months. They'd just filled up the nodes to their set maximum capacity when I ordered, but I spoke to Dan and they promptly got a new system deployed and were able to set me up within a few hours overall really - definitely a GOOD provider

There are quite a number of reputable hosts can provide you with 256MB ram VPS for £10 per month. You may need to raise your budget a bit for 512MB ram, especially when you're looking at a Managed VPS package.
