How To "Mask" Nameservers & IP Network...
I am interested in finding out if there is a way to hide my nameservers and IP Network. I am not sure if those are the right terms but I think they are.
I am going to use WebHostingTalk.com for example. Type it in at Domain Tools and you will see the following:
Is there any service that I can use to mask that information for my domain? Someone at another forum suggest using EveryDNS or OpenDNS but I couldn't figure it out.
Name Server: NS1.INETINTERACTIVE.NET (has 278 domains)
Name Server: NS2.INETINTERACTIVE.NET (has 278 domains)
IP Location - Texas - Dallas - Softlayer Technologies Inc
I am currently using shared hosting with SiteGround and my whois info with DomainTools is showing the following but I want it hidden:
Any suggestions or is this not possible?
Name Server: NS1.SITEGROUND132.COM (has 591 domains)
Name Server: NS2.SITEGROUND132.COM (has 591 domains)
IP Location - Maryland - Frederick - Singlehop Inc
The answer is no. But with a little dns trickery you can create an alias for those nameservers
ping the 2 nameservers to get the ips, then create an A record for ns1 and ns2 on your domain. this would kinda sorta create custom nameservers.
I think that EveryDNS will mask the nameservers.
How about masking the IP?
Does this actually work?
