Hello, I was wondering if anyone was capable of assisting me in choosing a new dedicated server provider. We're currently with Softlayer on a server purchased over a year ago, and although they're a great company which provides excellent support & a sweet back end, we've decided to try else where after 12-16 months of service.
After looking around, it seems that the best deals we've found available currently are the:
OVH SuperPlan BestOf: http://www.ovh.co.uk/products/superplan_best_of.xml
Kimsufi: http://kimsufi.co.uk
Hetzner: http://www.hetzner.de/page_en.htm
There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between them, so we emailed both companies (ovh & hetzner) asking about their services in accordance with what we use our server for, and both companies basically had the same response and emailed back within a very similar time period, so from what we can see from a sales point of contacting them, both have the same level of email support.
Our server hosts clients which have website's in touchy areas, such as movie streaming, tv show streaming, etc. The users don't actually store files on their servers, and we receive no complaints, so we would really like to keep them on board. Both companies have claimed that they have no problems with this as long as any complaints are dealed with swiftly, so that's fine.
Our current server is holding up good and it's quite out dated in technology compared to the ones above, we're currently almost maxing out our 500GB disc space, and both servers have 1TB or over so that's no problem. Currently using under 4TB/M bandwidth so the bandwidth supplied with both servers should also cover our current usage.
We're launching a legal adult tube website in the upcoming months, and both companies seem to be ok with this also. So what it has come down to is basically the server stats, price & level of service received. I'm not actually a hardware or networking specialist so my knowledge is very basic on the servers, which is why hopefully someone with experience here could help sway me into the right direction, or a new direction to an even different provider, any server located in the likes of EU, US or Canada is fine.
Looking to keep pricing under $200/M, (including cPamel + management) which is why we'll be ordering PSM & an cPanel from another licencer to save costs (should total around $60) leaving around $140 for the server alone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.
James.
