I use UK2net for email and hosting. Their service goes down every two or three days for maybe 10 minutes maybe two hours. Does anyone know whats happening? I would change but that is probably going to be nightmare for an amateur like me.

Do they have any service announcements as to why it has been going down?
I would certainly contact them and find out, they are a big name in the web hosting industry and strange that it has been going on so long.

Changing doesn't need to be a nightmare if you select a provider who uses cPanel like them
When your site becomes inaccessible have you tried using a proxy site such as megaproxy.com to see if the problem is with your ISP?

Your best bet is to simply contact them about the issue. If their response is not to your satisfaction and you seek to move, it won't be too difficult as long as you choose a cPanel host, and many hosts will move you over for free.

Thanks for all the replies.
There are no service messages.
I haven't tried megaproxy but will next time
When i contact them they are slow to respond and unhelpful.
Good tip re cPanel which is not something I know anything about. I was thinking of changing to justhost. Are they considered good or to get feedback do i have to start a new thread on this?

If you google for reviews - http://webhostinggeeks.com/user-revi...php?item_id=29 they have alot of reviews.
Most hosts will be able to transfer all of your files onto there systems for you so you really do not have to do anything! Apart from update your domain name servers which is usually a couple clicks on the mouse

Thanks Steve-H for that link which I wasn't aware of. I will certainly use it to get info though sadly it won't help to minimise downtime.

Did they give you a reason for your downtime? I'm not sure if the location of your websites matters, but I thought I'd just mention that I don't think JustHost have UK servers.
I've mentioned this as you currently have UK web hosting where JustHost is USA.

I believe Justhost offers hosting on UK servers as well. If you visit their website and scroll down the list of datacenters included on top right hand side, you will notice, UK to be listed as one of them.
I am looking for a reliable UK web host, however after doing a search, have come across more negative reviews for Justhost.

They do have their servers in UK and if you notice from their contact us page, you will notice the location of their UK office.
However, their support can confirm the exact location of their UK datacenter.
