    Unable to update libxml2

    [root@superserver1 ~]# rpm -Uvh libxml2-2.7.3-1.x86_64.rpm

    error: Failed dependencies:

    [root@superserver1 ~]# rmp -Uvh libxml2-python-2.7.3-1.x86_64.rpm

    [root@superserver1 ~]# rpm -Uvh libxml2-python-2.7.3-1.x86_64.rpm

    yum install libxml2-devel,libxml-devel,libxml2

    please help with error

    [root@superserver1 tmp]# yum install libxml2
    There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
    required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

    No module named logging

    Please install a package which provides this module, or
    verify that the module is installed correctly.

    It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
    current version of Python, which is:
    2.4.3 (#1, Dec 11 2006, 11:39:03)
    [GCC 4.1.1 20061130 (Red Hat 4.1.1-43)]

    You can check for any packages from yum repository by using the command,


    yum whatprovides package name

    Try yum clean all
    Then do the install or update

    search for the corresponding rpm's in http://rpm.pbone.net/

    no luck, is yum needs to be configured before use?

    how can i know the package name before i wish to install?

    what is the command if I wish to update any library?
