I aint heard of that, there was a MiniCMS developed years ago which was discontinued, I contacted the owner about his domain which he donated to me as I am launching my CMS as open source. I wont post the URL as I dont want to advertise. The CMS I am developing is uses alot of AJAX, which is causing problems with SEO etc.

If for ASP.NET CMS system, i would like to choose Kentico. For PHP based CMS systems, Joomla and Wordpress are user friendly with good features.

I have tried many CMS's. My favorite is Joomla, mainly because it has such a large community with so many extentions available.

I used Joomla but I don't like their system of articles. Now, I'm using Typolight. You can make more things, develop your own modules, and it's based on webpages. It's better for smaller site / company website.

We are evaluating Wordpress but would be interested to hear your suggested plugins to make Wordpress more of a CMS than a blogger.
I hesistate on Joomla due to security concerns. Joomla as a platform is very secure, but plugins have to be as secure as Joomla, and it seems hackers are getting through unsecured modules.

I found something in Fantastico that looks pretty promising. It's called Soho Launch. It has a ton of features and looks more like a custom site than some boxy piece of junk. I'll update more later, but all of you cpanel types should check it out, it's pretty easy to use.

WordPress for your average site, Drupal when WordPress fails.
I LOVE Drupal, I really do, but it takes MUCH longer to get the b!tc# going, compared to WordPress.
its themeing engine is great, very well thought out in Drupal but it takes some time to learn it all.
CCK and Views are two excellent modules available for Drupal. Can't live without it.

I mostly use WordPress for client websites, unless it's something more substantial and then Joomla/Drupal take over.
I've used SilverStripe a few times, but found it to be a little disappointing.

I've used Wordpress before, but to be honest I prefer creating my own CMS systems from the ground up for my clients.

I gotta agree with the above Wordpress for most projects/users. Drupal for the more complex.
I know Joomla is powerful but I have a hard time teaching other users not already famailiar with it to use it especially the technically impaired.
Sometime simplicity and customizability is the better option than sheer power.Ariolander - Amateur Web Developer

I agree with Ariolander Joomla is very awesome and powerful above any others. It's only thing is it may be challenging for someone without any experience in Web Development to learn it I have found. But Joomla is the only one I still recommend just cause I likes its power. Customers who get a little confused are just customers that will stay with you longer when you take the time to teach them.
It makes you still feel valuable and not just an auto-install cms system with limited features.Computer Steroids - Full service website development solutions since 2001.

Drupal is faster, more powerful, very well thought out and a blast to design templates for. its template engine is very very well thought out (like specific classes for the first and last result of a list, odd and even classes on every multiple result, easy table, grid, list or unstyled view of your content, built-in forum, built-in OpenID, built-in multi-site support... There's plenty more differences in Drupal and WordPress. In fact, its comparing apples and oranges. WordPress is probably quite extendable, but I found it easier to do in Drupal.
CCK is Content Construction Kit. It allows you to add very specific fields to your 'content types'. For example your content type is "CDs", and you want to add an artist, album title, release date with javascript picker, cover upload + description, rating and download/buy link, you can very easily add those fields to your content type with use of CCK. a Content type is a sort/piece of content that goes far beyond your average page or blog post. It can be all sorts of content you require for your site.
There's plenty more features on CCK, best is to check out http://drupal.org/project/CCK
Views is basically nothing more than a VERY extended query generator. You can output any content, any way. For example the "CDs" Content type we just discussed. If you want 20 CDs on one page, sortable by artist, album title and year, you want to see a thumbnail view of the cover and you want multiple pages of results, Views is your man.
Check http://drupal.org/project/Views
