Looking for article authors for HostEntrepreneur.com
HostEntrepreneur is about what else but hosting... the business, marketing, and technical sides. Started recently, I'm hoping it to become a fun but informational site that hosters will appreciate and come back for more.
Personally, I am committed to writing 5 articles a week but trying for 1 a day. I'd like to bring other writers into it as well... The articles should be of general interest to hosters and not what you would find on the "article submission sites". That is no "10 best hosts" or "how to choose the best hosting for you" articles will be accepted. And obviously no "why host XYZ is the best host in the world" articles either.
And I'm not expecting you to do this for free... A little research I've done, I've seen blog articles for between $2 and $40 per post with $10ish being about average. That should be a good starting point I'd think of a decent sized article. I can buy custom 500 word articles for that from a reputable source I found - but I'd rather use someone(s) who focus on this industry. But if, for example, you're not a native english speaker, and we need to work on your article, we can do so, but depending on how much time would be involved it could affect the rate. But too much so, and it would become easier for me just to write it in the first place.
You will also be given an "about the author" section at the end of the article where you will be allowed a a reasonable sized blurb about you and link to your company's site. Yes, even for a competitor... this is one of the most cooperative industries I've seen and one of the things I like most about it.
If you're interested, take a look at the site, and then contact me either through PM here or email me at rob -at- lagniappeinternet.com and we can discuss your ideas for articles.
I'm getting a great response to the post... Thanks!
I'd like to add a bit to the above after a couple of people have asked questions.
---Take a look at the http://HostEntrepreneur.com site for examples of the types of articles we're talking about... Things specifically not wanted are PLR type articles, "How to find the best web host", Top 10 lists, etc.
Things that are desired are: honest reviews of products and services of interest to webhosts -- that means reviews of webhosting companies themselves is not, providers of products(hardware and software) and services (backups, support, monitoring, etc.) are wanted. Articles about how to get going properly. How to configure a server or vps. I'm open to ideas... run something by me if you think it would make a good article. Above all, any review must be honest and straightforward. You need to have used the product or service yourself, and you must not be compensated by the maker/provider.
The desire is a blog that webhosts would like to read and can feel they can trust - so candid writing is an absolute must. Style is informal conversational however it can't get to the point that excessive typos, improper punctuation, etc. are causing it to be distracting. Basically it's a blog, not a research paper, but it can't look like a 4th grader wrote it.
