    CSS Question

I was recently looking on the web site and noticed a checklist that helps individuals with SEO. One on the items under website development stated "All styles with CSS. No Tables!" What does this mean? Does it mean do not insert tables on your webpage?

I'm sure that is exactly what it means. IMO tables are still great for displaying some types of content but their use should be limited and styled with css instead of inline styles.

I can't see there being that much of a hit on SEO if they are used sparingly.

Tables shouldn't be used no matter what. The only purpose of tables is to display tabular data such as quotations, orders, etc. Everything that can be done with tables can be done with divs (as it should be).
