Need help moving files to new hosting account

    Hi all,

I am downgrading from a dedicated server with managed hosting to a shared hosting account with CPanel. I need to move over all my files and databases to the shared account, but don't think I can do this because of all the large files and databases.

I am looking for someone who could move the files (roughly 14 GB), dump and import all the databases, and possibly rearrange/rename the root folders so they are in the right place.

Please post here or send me a PM if you are interested in helping. I don't have much of a budget and would love to get this done for free, but I could throw in a link on one of my websites as a thank you! I can also pay a little if need be.

Please let me know if you are interested. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

If this will cost me, please let me know how much you would charge for such a move. Thank you!

Do you have access to WHM also on the shared account? It would come in VERY handy to create and move the backups yourself.

You could then do a server to server transfer in order to avoid using your own connection to transfer the files. Maybe you could ask your new host to assist you with this process.

I have CPanel with my new host but not on my current dedicated server. My dedicated server is fully managed so they handle that.

  5. do you have Shell account on the CPanel host ? maybe you can move it via rsync or SCP.

you can resume you data trasnfer if got timeout or something, so you can check some info about RSYNC method here http://techtavern.wordpress.com/2008...file-transfer/

Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone have any other way of doing this themselves? Maybe something faster?

    *Bump*

Anyone? What would it take to just get the files transferred over?

    Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you all know that UNIXy moved all my files, databases, and email files. He even sorted out the different paths on the new server and fixed up my databases.

A big thank you goes out to him and his hosting company. It was definitely the easiest and quickest server move I've ever been part of. I previously made a similar move through another person and it took them 2 weeks longer than UNIXy. I'm definitely going to go with UNIXy the next time I upgrade to a VPS or managed server.

    Thanks again buddy!
