20 minutes I believe was the longest time I was chatting with someone and they eventually bought hosting. Funny how the chat had nothing to do with hosting at all, just random stuff lol.

Oh 20mins, Wow that is quite a long talk!
~ I won't mention names or the conversation, Though today alone with 1 customer it was 4hrs long. Actually it was quite fun. I was bored and had nothing to do so I helped my customer out

A few hours for a fairly big sale awhile back. Sometimes it takes a lot of covering of the details.

Recently I was in a live chat with someone for a tad over an hour. They really had issues ordering online.

I was on the phone with someone about 2 months ago for about 1.5 hours(this was for a simple order of eliquid, 19 dollars). Some people that use the electronic cigarette really like to talk about the ecig and everything about it. I dont mind the conversations so I keep chatting with them. Also this order was not even placed over the phone, it was placed online.

Years ago when I ran free webhosting, someone who went with the no ad paid version(this was in about 99/2000 or so) and they had been there awhile and wanted to setup a shoutcast server so I set it up for them and had to write a simple perl script with a link that they could use to stop/start/restart the service if it went down. I forget what we talked about but the conversation went on for about 2 hours.

A few hours. This happens often. Most live chats are under one of three time-frames...

    45 seconds, 15 minutes, 3 hours. imo. : - )

    Great thread OP!

Ouch. Yeah, sometimes I feel like my clients forget about me... : - ) They will not respond, and I will throw in a few Hellos, and informative quips...they then reply an hour or two later like..."Hey!, sorry, you still there?", "I was distracted". Hehe, no worries from me though. If they know Ill be there when they need me, that works.

That is even quite a long time, I mean 60mins of talk time! That would be me talking to my mum over the phone with computer advice or talking to my friends. I talk too much maybe that is why I am all excited.

I just wanted to add, I had a really bad night tonight. I get about 10 chat requests a day. Usually they are short 2-3 minutes max now. I don't know what happened but for some odd reason I got 4 chat sessions in 10 minutes. And they all had short initial questions followed by more short questions. I like to respond fast, but it got to the point where I would change over to a different person scan their last message and respond. Since they all ask similar questions, it turns out that "see what I wrote before for more details" only works if you sent those details to them and not someone else, heh.
