I'd like to see something a bit more slick - Web 2.0 would be nice. Ease of use must be kept first priority, without compromising features.

Well I like the thought as long as they support it.
What I think it will turn out to be a Marketplace for themes where they will allow existing theme developers to roll in. This is just a guess I make.
Bcoz cPanel has lots of work to do rather than just make themes !
