    need high quality cpanel host

    Hello,

I need to find a new host asap. I’m trying to find a shared host of the same or near quality of medialayer or precision effect, but one that uses cpanel. My budget is around $25.00 per month. I need about 1200-1500 mb storage, and 20-30 gb traffic. Please do not say search the forum. I have done that for days. I need recommendations, as I need to switch hosts this week.

    Thanks

There are not too many hosts that offer $25/month+ shared hosting so it shouldn't be too hard to pick one once you come up with a short-list.

I can't think of any off the top of my head that would meet your needs other than the ones you've already listed though.

Sounds reasonable but you probably won't need to pay that much for such requirements.

Is there anything else you may specifically need along with cPanel?

    http://downtownhost.com/shared.html
    $15.95 per month
    10GB Diskspace
    200GB Bandwidth

I currently have this plan and it's running two domains without any problems at all. I've contacted support on two occassions and their billing department on a seperate occassion. Responses have always been fast and helpful.

I've been hosting with them for 2 months now. I've been recommending clients to their service for years.

Best of luck in your search.

MediaLayer and Precision Effect are definitely great providers.
Do you require LiteSpeed as well?

Imho going monthly at DTH is a bit overpriced in my eyes but that's just my personal opinion - the 3-year terms look about average for the hosting industry with the disk/transfer limits.

Honestly though it's a great way to go about doing things for DTH because those that want to go monthly pay quite a bit extra and those that are willing to put faith into the company with a large upfront payment get substantially lower pricing

As has already been mentioned, you have a lot of options with your needs and your budget, so the shared offers section would be a good place to start. However for that amount of BW it looks like your budget is a little too low. Regardless always make sure the host you go with will allow you to upgrade, and do not pay in advance (i.e. annual) unless you are certain you trust the host or have tried their services for a month or two and are satisfied.

Forget diskspace and bandwidth for a moment... now what's your argument? I don't mean that rude at all. However, I do see the word "quality" in the OP's subject line and DTH seems to meet that requirement pretty well.

I would personally spend $100 for a shared account if I thought the value was worth it. Diskspace and bandwidth aren't always the main choices behind choosing a provider.

OP, I stick by my recommendation. Yes you'll get it cheaper but hell, you can ALWAYS get something cheaper.

I think the best recommendation here is from someone who had positive experiences with a particular company. In this case, Mekhu with DTH.

I need to host 5 domains, an ecommerce store with ssl, wordpress. The hosting company must allow mailing list software. It looked like knownhost would work, but when I emailed them they do not allow any mailing list software on their shared packages, even if you only rarely use it. The main thing I need is great uptime for my ecommerce store. I’ve had bluehost for 5 years, and need to move up, and get away from all of the downtime.

I looked at the direct admin panel, and would feel more comfortable sticking with cpanel since I currently use it.

A few companies have a good reputation here. I've used A Small Orange before and they were pretty good. There's also Host Gator and MDD Hosting that I would add to hosts that have a good reputation here. Check out Dan's Honest Host list http://whreviews.com/ that might provide you with a good host for you.

    Good luck with the search!

A budget of 25.00 per month is too low for 1200 to 1500mb storage, and 20-30gb bandwidth?

Actually the budget is more than enough. In regards to your mailing list software, you should be able to install something like PHPList. However do take note that most hosting provider have a limit on the number of mails that you can send per hour/day, so be sure to check with them about it.

Your budget is quite generous if you are looking for a run of the mill host, however for a well established, quality host it's still quite reasonable although still pretty generous. So pay no attention to those who say it is not enough.

I don't see why you would not be able to find a good company that would allow you to run a mailing list, especially if it is an opt-in list. Since you have SSL and will need a dedicated IP address, running a mailing list from a dedicated IP should cause no harm to the host anyway.

What type of mailer do you use / plan to use?

You are in luck, because there is a bunch around these parts. What exactly are you running on your site, if I may be so bold as to ask?

EDIT: Scratch that, I found it in your previous reply. So yea, plenty of choice. :-P

To the OP, why do you need a host offering Cpanel and not other control panel?

All I was really trying to get at was that the month-to-month was a tad high compared to the longer commitments is all - I wasn't speaking towards the quality of DTH - I should have been clearer.

Since when does owning a hosting company exclude me from having personal opinions about other providers? I wasn't speaking to the quality of your company but simply the large difference between month-to-month billing and a 3 year commitment is all.

There's no need to get all flustered and I apologize if I didn't come across the way I intended.

There's a lot... really a lot of high quality cpanel host out there - including SYN Hosting. All my website being hosted by SYN. My review of SYN can be read here, anyway. The SYN's price range between $9.95 - $19.95 per month, btw.

To clarify I cannot speak towards the quality of DTH as I have never used them - what I was trying to say was that there is a *HUGE* difference in the price from paying monthly to going for 3 years.

For three years up front 178.20 vs 574.20 for 3 years paid monthly. It's a *huge* difference is really all I was getting at and personally I would feel the difference was too large and I would go for the longer term.

And here I am saying that I feel it's a good system for DTH - again I wasn't trying to put DTH down or anything like that

I just shouldn't have been so short with my response.

Then you should not have trouble with a majority of hosting companies. This should be no problem at all.

May I ask what companies you may be currently considering? Perhaps we can help you narrow down your possible hosts?
