I want to give out IPs that people can use for proxies.
I currently run a paid proxy site that gives out web proxies - but it looks like some of my customers want this instead. I'm not really sure a lot about it. From the research I did, I need a VPS or dedicated server and set it up as a proxy server.
If I set this up or whatever, how many IPs will I be able to give out? Can I just give out 1 IP to everyone - how can I secure that or just let some people use it though?
Does anyone know anything about this and can help?
If I looked at these sites correctly, you will need a VPS or Dedicated Server. You then will be allowed to provide dedicated IPs for proxy, host the proxy, provide bandwidth, etc. This is what proxybonanza.com seems to be doing.
Some companies like FDCServers provide up to 60 free IPs per dedicated server and some companies may charge you $1.00 - $2.00 per IP.
I agree VPS is needed at least. Plus you will need the permission from your web hosting provider to do that.
Proxy sites are being used for the suspicious things so web hosting provider might be not interested in it.
