Google trying to dominate the world?

    Fellow WHTers

Is it just me or are Google trying to dominate the world?

They've just brought out a new call service, not open yet, but will be soon.

I think Google has way to much control over things. It's like a monopoly .

They should have a huge picture of Mr. Monopoly on their search page instead of those random ones.

I thought this seemed similar to GrandCentral. Went to the GrandCentral.com website and, sure enough, it's Google Voice.

    Seems like a good service.

It will definitely help those smaller companies offer phone support that can't offer a full phone support service... If you get what I mean... (I know what I mean)

Now there just needs to be an ability for someone to answer the phones for you.

Skype from what i hear is not doing well so maybe they figure they will offer something also? Are they trying to dominate the world? I personally dont think they need to try.

and I think there was a world before Google.
And there will be the world with Google.
And there will be the world after Google.
This company now flourishes, it has almost everything to offer...and yet it will over-expand. Like sad story of a good host starting to over-sell a bit, then just oversell and finally - heavy oversell (unlimited everything!).
Some time ago search was impossible without altavista (then - altavista.digital.com). And browsing was almost impossible without IE. So, the years will go and Google will be replaced by some other big big company.

I've had a Google Voice account for now.. since the beta.

I like it, but it certainly still needs improvements for now its just the basic features.

Specifically, I use it for the international calling rates

Well the way I see google it would be interested to see how they are handling our personal information they see what we search, they see what sites we view, they want to release there own OS ultimately they could see what we do on our computer they have there own merchant system so they can extract our credit card details... I mean google is becoming a joke...

I know Skype is not making much money, but what's wrong with it for Google to come out with an alternative?

I like using skype to call international and domestic via my 3.5G phone.
