Hosting24 to The Edge - Thoughts?

I am quite curious on this one, Thanks for the previous thread on Hosting24. I have managed to pull this one together.

What are your thoughts, Do you think this is a classic rip or just inspiration?

Suprising I suppose

Lets say quite un-professional.

Whilst passing time and creating a Shared (ADV) I come across the Edge, Title was catch, Seemed ok, So thought I would have a look at their site.

To my suprise I had seen ti before, But where?
I could not remember so a week passes and I see this Hosting24 thread here on WHT. I looked at their site and said yes, Found you, Just what I was after.

And here we are making a thread about it.

Quite funny how the rip is poorly constructed, So much work needs to be done to it. Better yet might as well remove it.

Sean

They're different sites in construction, aside from the man rock image (which I was surprised to see used somewhere else)...a rip? Not even close. Amazing how quickly conspiracy threads pop up in here..this place can be worse than the X-Files sometimes.

Also let it be said that i'm considering a site revamp soon, even previous to this.

The only similarity that I really see is the man on the rock image, otherwise the two sites are quite different and hardly a rip.

"The Edge" was able to use that picture with the guy sitting on the cliff a lot more appropriately though.

I agree with Dan. Seems the man sitting on the rock makes it look similar.

very interesting. I saw a few web hosting providers that have copied other web hosts.

Yeah the man on the rock is just a generic stock photo. There's a distinct difference in the level of quality between both, I'll give you that - but I'm not sure that it's actually a rip. I think it just looks like utter crap

I think it looks nice, but a little bland perhaps. I'll be probably doing a site revamp in the next few days.

I'm surprised how many companies try to rip our design. One of companies has made copy/paste of our source (they just replaced some logos) and added our layout on their site.

However, these guys were so lame, that they also included our chat button (it looks they had no idea how to remove it), so as soon as any person was visiting their site, we could force chat window and ask this person to visit our website. 2 days later our design was removed from their site

Maybe its a stock image that any one can use? It doesnt necessarily mean its a rip.
