    E-Mail Forwarding, Please Help!!

    Hi Guys,

So I'm a bit of a newb with the techy side of Web Servers, but I know the basics I guess.

Basically, I have a bunch of my @wrestling-edge.com e-mail addresses I wish to forward to my personalized yahoo e-mail account, but it doesn't work as someone I used to work with set it up to go to google mail or something like that.

Im my site controlpanel I have added the accounts and set-up the forwarders but none of the e-mails work and say the account doesn't exist when I try to send e-mails to them.

Anyone PLEASE advise on how to fix this?? It can't be that difficult surely.. I am on a Linux web server by the way.

You can forward e-mails using your control panel mail forwarder option

    for example

    test@wrestling-edge.com ===> test@yahoo.com

    the above will work.

paste the result of following command while you are sending the e-mail

    tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog | grep wrestling-edge.com
SupportExpertz.com - the name says it all!

I've done the mail forwrder in cpanel but there is still some underlying problem as it doesn't work.

The command you gave me doesn't work.. no output produced.

Does the mail reach the yahoo account when send directly and not as a forwarder?

Also , first run the below command and then try to send mail

    tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog | grep yahoo.com
SupportExpertz.com - the name says it all!

check the domain entries. If the domain is pointing to local servere the entries should be in /etc/localdomain and if remote then /etc/remotedomains.
The error which you have specified points to the same thing.

  9. #9
    in etc/localdomain it has

    deadrising2.net
    wedge01.x5int.com
    wrestlingedgecom.theplanet.host

    and in remotedomains just

    wrestling-edge.com

What do I need to edit? Sorry for the silly questions..

    hello,

the file /etc/localdomains refers to the list of domains that have mail on the server. And /etc/relaydomains refers
to the list of domains that are allowed to relay mail through the server.

ie if MX for your domain is pointing to another server, make sure it is added to /etc/remotedomains. If MX is pointing
to your server, it needs to be in /etc/localdomains

Hope this is clear for you.

The reason why your email forwards are not working because the remote email server which is Yahoo in this case is rejecting emails from your email server. The email server log shows the bounce,

Do you have rDNS set for the email server IP address ?

Secondly, are you sending bulk email to the Yahoo domain ?

    As for the second issue,

If I send an email to amish.patel@wrestling-edge.com I get the email below
MX of wrestling-edge.com is pointing to Google.

    $ dig wrestling-edge.com mx

Have you created the email account amish.patel@wrestling-edge.com in Google Apps interface under Email Accounts ? As Google email server has bounced back saying the email account does not exist as per the following,
