Weird... Mysql not working from the client side

Hello, mysql on my server stopped working from the client side and it generates a 500 error. php runs as cgi suexec enabled.

From whm it works without any problem, webmail works fine and phpmyadmin also does.

It is only for client side scripts, no configuration on the server settings has been done.

I have tried updating cpanel with no results

    Any ideas?

    I have run
    /scripts/upcp --force

    and
    /scripts/easyapache

with no results, I have changed php handler from suphp to dso (suexec enabled) and it seems to work again.

Surprisingly I didn't make any change to any file at all that would be cause for the problem.

might be something update via yum, block yum update and take backup of your work first.

enable jailshell for one of your clients and try to use mysql via it, maybe this will put some light on this situation

This sounds like a script permission issue rather than MySQL.
