I want to add VoIP and IVR funtionality to my website. Callers should be able to call through an incoming line and have the IVR answer them and based on the keys that they press the call will be redirected/transferred / forwarded through an outgoing line to the waiting customer care or service provider who will be picked randomly from their groups. as soon as the call transfer is successful the call should be dropped.
Can you suggest
1. VoIP hosting service providers
2. IVR software i can install on my website and configure to receive and redirect the calls
3. Estimated cost of of VoIP, Incoming and outgoing lines for simultaneous calls
When you say you want to add it to your website you mean a softphone (PC based phone) or just have a regular phone number for people to call?
You can certainly do all of this with Asterisk (and adding FreePBX to that makes everything easy to set up through a web GUI).
Asterisk supports multiple call queues that would contain your agents. You can then create an IVR and redirect callers based on what they press to different call queues. Again, with FreePBX, this is all configurable through a GUI.
For an idea of call costs you can check here - http://www.callwithus.com/showrates. There are loads of providers around. You normally pay for outbound calls by the minute and buy an inbound number for a fixed monthly fee.

hi bucasia, thanks for your information.: I am looking for a Voip software i can configure and then upload the whole solution to my website so that it will run from my website space since my internet connection here is unstable but the website host has dependable internet connection. Is Asterisk still the answer?
hi bucasia and rwxguru,
do you think hwshosting offer the service that can enable me achieve my aim of uploading an IVR application and linkig a VoIP service with incoming and outgoing call functionality? thus can my call centre be run from this remote VPS?

Reason: an omission
I'm using onebox.com for the IVR. I have a toll free number pointed to it, and the extensions ring to VoIP/Skype lines. Onbox will do a custom recording for you when you sign up. My plan is $50/month. They have a cheap and more expensive one.
Wanted to know whether i should buy the one month subscription of VPS at £8 at hwshosting[dot]net
and whether this will allow me to upload and/or install an IVR application, perhaps from asterisks, and then link my voip service to it?
hi, thought i should re-post my original post with some added clearity:
I want to host a call centre on a VPS or dedicated server with my bbpglobal number pointing to it. Callers should be able to call through an incoming line and have the IVR answer them and based on the keys that they press the call will be redirected/transferred / forwarded through an outgoing line to the waiting customer care or service provider who will be picked randomly from lists/groups. as soon as the call transfer is successful the call should be dropped.
Can you suggest
1. VPS / dedicated server service providers ( is hwshosting[dot]net good enough? is has got a £8 month monthly offer)WHAT ABOUT 1and1[dot]com's offer of 3 months free dedicated web service?
2. IVR software i can install ON the VPS or dedicated server configured to receive and redirect the calls
3. Estimated cost of of VoIPnumbers, Incoming and outgoing lines for simultaneous calls
