    monitor wont turn on

Hopefully someone can help help me because I am out of ideas.

I recently got my new motherboard and installed it just like i installed my other one in my other computer. I turned the computer on and the monitor didnt turn on...

I have tried switching video cards, I have tried different RAM, I tried the on board video slot.

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Here is the motherboard I am working with: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135085

ANY ideas would be helpful please.

contact newegg if you look at the reviews about 20% of all motherboards sent to people are broken.... from that specific board.

    Hey luxx,

Sometimes when switching to another motherboard, I have this issue.

    Try these steps:

-Leave PC plugged in and PSU on (-), but completely shut down.
-Locate the CMOS jumper and circular battery
-Whatever 2 pins the CMOS jumper is on, move the jumper over to the other side. (eg. [12]3 > 1[23])
    -Remove the circular battery completely
-Wait a few minutes, then put the jumper back to where it was, and re-install the battery
    -Bootup the PC

This usually does the trick for me. It effectively clears out the motherboard's memory completely.

Sometimes the motherboard will retain information that will prevent a display, among other issues.

    Good luck.

it's possible that you haven't connected all of the power supply switches.

besides the 20/24PIN connector to your motherboard... have you installed the 4/6pin power plug?

The advice that has been given is great. Im sure that the motherboard you purchased should come with a damages warranty? Maybe check over that see if you can find anywhere to get aid from Newegg.

    Is it plugged in?

    kidding! :p

    But seriously
Faulty board or faulty power supply? Is there any "beep codes" that you can hear? (make sure the pc speaker is hooked up if it does not have one onboard) If it is beeping then look up the beep code for that board.

Sound like your MOBO is DOA, does the motherboard light up when you turn it on? Any Beeps? Does your Monitor turn on(power on) or does it just have a black screen?

Is the power supply fan spinning up?

    Is the CPU fan turning?

Can you hear your disk drive spinning up?

Can you hear your hard drive starting up?

Is the monitor dead, or is the power button lighting up but a black screen? or is it showing no connection/signal error?

    More details would be helpful

If it starts to go to the OS load screen and then goes black do this....

Reboot it and hit f8 or f5 to get it to windows safe mode option screen.

Below those options it will say enable vga mode

Select that, then once on the desktop install the correct Vid card drivers and reboot again it should no longer need VGA at this point.

    Happens alot.

Enable VGA Mode is a VERY useful option. It has saved me a few times, as well.
