This marks the end of the recession!

All,

Unemployment rate is still high but the recession is over... That is until we hit $140 a barrel again in 2-3 years from now.

Enjoy another roller coaster!

Best

We will see...

A couple days of improvement isn't really a sign of improvement. I think they are just propping up the economy to show some sort of gains, but will kick the legs out from under it pretty soon.

Doesn't matter until there are more people hired, then being fired... in my opinion.

Once new hires start to increase, is when people need to jump up and down. The increase of unemployment is still quite shocking.

Why is it that in school recess is good... but when you get all grown up, a recession is bad? WTF??

You're totally right. I wish we could have recess still...without the "ion". I'd like to go play a little tag or kickball during the middle of my work day.

What's strange is that (un)employment is usually a lagging indicator.

Ahhh, the recession is over because the media says the recession is over.

And all the lemming shouted and jumped for joy, but joy was too quick.

Gov has been fudging the number for years. They change the equations, stop reporting numbers that they don't want us to know, push falsehoods via the media, etc. www.shadowstats.com is a good site about the numbers.

Here's a good quote in response to that:

“The government is great at breaking your leg, handing you a crutch, and then saying, ‘You see, without me, you couldn’t walk.’” - Harry Browne

As long as it's not dodgeball, or at least not in NJ. I believe NJ banned dodgeball from being played at school in this state.
