    Internet access for uploads

I'm working on some projects now that includes uploading photos and videos. I'd like to have a faster connection for uploads, but I haven't found a good one. The only providers in my area are Cox and AT&T. Right now, I have 12 mbps down / 1.5 mbps up on U-Verse. Cox can give me 15mbps/3mbps for around $55-65 I think. They also have "business Internet" which the salesperson said uses different routers and a static IP address. They can offer about 10mpbs/2mbps for $70 or 15mbps/3mbps for around $100.

Any of you use "business class" connections? They do not offer an SLA with cable modem service.

Any other providers that would worth checking into. I would imagine there may be other wireless carriers, but I haven't heard of any other wired services in my area.

Do many of you just use standard internet and wait awhile?

    Where is your area?

I use Verizon FiOS business class with a routed subnet, works fine for me so far.

agreed. I wish I could leach a 100mbit connections off a datacenter that would be better.

I think the reason behind slow upload speeds was to deter people from hosting servers on their broadband connections.. but with youtube and other video, file hosting, and media sites the need for faster uploads is here. I hope ISP's will consider this - especially since it is generally cheaper for them to push bandwidth out than in since the vast majority of traffic is downloads.

.. though, I could be wrong.
