Hello, you probably remember me talking about hosting recommendations, but at the time, my stats weren't really required for a move, however, now that it seems my traffic has peaked, around 1,000 daily, do you think I need to consider a move?
I have been noticing some really odd delays in DreamHost's shared plans and my bandwidth consumption is about 400MB per day. (About 10GB per month) This is known to change, considering that this will be my overall serious site.
Whats the next hosting plan to consider besides shared hosting? Semi dedicated? VPS hosting? If so, any recommendations for my particular web stats?
I see you guys recommend HostGator a lot, and seeing my stats, if I do try HostGator, what plan do you think I should use with my particular web stats?
Thanks for all the recommendations and help nevertheless.
Do you think your traffic will continue to increase? I'd say you've outgrown the shared hosting environment, you could try a VPS as your next step, especially considering it would provide more added assurance when it comes to future bandwidth use.
Hi, i would say if your wanting to move up from shared hosting, that VPS would be a great idea, VPS is kinda like having your own server but in a shared environment, very nice, and depending on the provider could be amazing, ive gone with company such as www.xygenhosting.com and ive been amazed with the vps systems they run , very nice support, stable services, secure and always around for help, now i do beelieve they also offer half price first month to try things out, as well as set anything up you need from the start , in the meantime, there plans are also always upgradable so id say you'd be safe with a vps for a good while as well as if you need cpanel make sure you get a vps with minimum 512 mb dedicated Best of luck`

At the moment, I got a report saying that they fixed the server spikes, which they did, and the problem was because someone in the shared network was loading a large file and taking up all the resources.
I would need a datacenter in California. Somewhere close
Currently, my bandwidth consumption is around 600MB per day.
@TonyB, if I don't need VPS hosting at the moment, when would it be a good time? In terms of bandwidth consumption etc. My site is a blog, so disk space isn't really a problem.
About 2 pageviews per visitor. Thanks for your great advice.
dont get me wrong im not trying to discourage you to not upgrade to a VPS I just think at this point its a waste of $ for you. I know alot of providers would cut people off well before they hit there account limits, but I have never known INNO to do such a thing and I have had servers with them since June of 07
going from one unlimited host to another is not going to be any kind of upgrade for sure, if you don't really need ridiculous amount of bandwidth/space (that you wont get anyway on a unlimited plan) and you're interested mostly in the performance/reliability, search for a reliable host with real plans for a reasonable price, there are tons of reviews about many many hosts on this forum.
What web hosting do you have in mind? I have checked out special offers for both shared hosting and VPS. VPS is either unmanaged or is too much for my one puny blog, and shared hosting looks really oversold with offers like $1/m.
Any recommendations would be great. Any solid advice would be appreciated.

Make a shortlist of 5-6 host offering what you want, and then research about them, you'll find reviews about almost any host using the search feature of this forum http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php
