help with .htaccess file
I've just installed qdbs (a quote database) on a free cpanel host that I have an account on.
However, for whatever reason, the admin page will not load unless I enter the whole url (/admin/index.php works whereas /admin/ does not)
I've posted on their forums to try and get help, and was told by another member that the server looks for cgi files before anything else, and to change that behaviour I would need to use an .htaccess file.
I've put the following in an .htaccess file before uploading it:
DirectoryIndex index.html index.php
The only file in the admin directory is an index.php file.
Does anyone know whether what i've put in the .htaccess file is correct, and if not, what I need to put there to get the server to load the index.php file by default?
I've tried putting the file in the root directory, and also in the admin directory, but neither of them have worked.
