I see a lot of Greece moving towards Germany for their hosting; which seems to give reasonable speeds to them; i do not know if this information helps you as i don't know what is your reason to find a host in Greece itself.
wont you be able to co-lo a server at your ISP ?
p4 is an old machine , im sure you could get yourself a budget core2 /atom computer and house it @ your ISP...
call them ask if they are willing to host it for you.
(some IPSs let you host PC machines not only U/rack machines ).
look for a mini ATX configuration with good cooling, if a p4 is all you need, im sure you will be able to find a computer that will meet your needs.
LOL can someone tell them about fiber optics and peering?
wow that sounds unreal.
We don't have our own datacenter; here in Greece there are 3 major ISPs who offer datacenter services: FORTHnet, HOL, OTE. Since the number is very small, the healthy competition doesn't apply here and we buy the bulk services (racks, C Class IPs, traffic) at a high cost. You may think that the prices shown at http://www.hyperhosting.gr/index.php...page=dedicated are huge, but try to get a solution from FORTHnet itself and you'll see that we are way cheaper.
Datacenter services in Greece are best suited for clients who have a big visitor share from Greece, since the GR-IX peering all big ISPs have here offer the smallest ping possible (7ms through aDSL line).
