    Exclamation Web Design Layout Help

    Hey all,

I'm planing on designing a website and i have already started the work. These days i see that most of the websites, its tabled and its in the middle of the actual browser.

For example please view these following sites:

    http://www.series99.com/

    http://www.canadiantamilcongress.ca/

    http://www.kuraltvinfo.com/index.html

But from how it was before. does the website used to take the whole web browsers space? like this one below.

    http://www.workopolis.com/

. Can someone explain me why most of the new websites are designed like the first 3 examples i gave. OR is it showing like that just because I have 19" Monitor and back then it used to be 17" and the resolution used to be like 800x600 and 1024x768. ??

Also if i want to design my site something similar to http://www.kuraltvinfo.com/index.html how can i get it layed out faster I mean the table codings and things.

any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

For starters, most "new" websites are not tabled.

If I were you I would google for "css layout" or something similar and go from there. Forget about tables.

To answer your question in short - the centered websites have a fixed width container (ie width="900px") whereas the expanded/fluid/full screen sites are using a container with no fixed width or a width of 100%.

    Good luck.

Having a fixed width gives you more control over the design, and you don't have to worry about visitors screen resolution.

    Hi,
you have to go with divs instead of tables.because its have lots of advantages over table.to get layouts use this url http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presentation/page_layouts/ and also try to master it. once you got the concept you will never use tables

The web standard is XHTML / CSS (Tables designs). You will need to hire a web design / developer to code XHTML / CSS for you or provide a free template design (Make sure you keep copyright) and begin from there.

I use fixed layouts over fluid layouts, anyday. Using css you can accomplish this.

I’m glad I found this site. Anyways, I’m a new member of the online community and I wanted to create a blog in wordpress and wanted to insert a logo of my company. Can anyone please tell me where should I go? I’m kinda confused with all of those stuff.
