Thread: E8400 or Q8400?

  1. #1

    E8400 or Q8400?

    E8400 = 3.0Ghz Dual Core with 6MB Cache and 1333 Front side Bus, 45nm, 65W

    Q8400 = 2.66Ghz Quad Core with 4MB Cache and 1333 Front side Bus, 45nm, 95W

    Which one would be better?

    Depends, but if your application can scale(LAMP based) the Q8400 will be better.

    I would say Quad Core with 8GB of RAM would be better. I suppose that would not be more expensive then with $GB
