I'm kicking around the idea of offering the equivalent of a T1 for around $500 per month or so...and then a small fee (maybe $20 per month???) per 1U. This would be basically for those who have their own machines and maintain them...but need connectivity. We could throw in a couple IPs per U and remote reboots, I guess.
Maybe I haven't looked enough - but it seems that most colo places offer XX GB per month. I don't see many offering colo packages this way.
This is NOT an advertisement...because we don't currently offer this and I haven't even thought this entire thing through yet.
I was just sitting here putting together some dedicated server and colo packages, based on some of the pricing structures I've seen (no, we can't compete with rackshack!!) and I thought maybe there might be a market for this.

I'm not exactly familiar with the equipment to do this, but I recall seeing it offered before. While it's a good price for a T1, one of the reasons people send their server to a data center is for burstability and flexible costs. A client without much usage would not find it cost-efficient to pay $500/month to drink from a fire hose, so to speak and a high-usage client will not be able to burst. IMO, T1s belong in an office environment.
If you're talking about the 95th percentile rule or something just forget what I said.
