Thumbs up 6Sync.com 1 month Review [Recommended]

    Provider: http://www.6sync.com
    Duration: 1 Month (June 21)
    Virtualization: XEN

    Initial order

After I paid for my VPS I asked Rav if he can install the essential applications that I need and he said yes. I asked him to install lighttpd, MySQL, PHP and eaccelerator on CentOS I did not want to install a Control Panel since I want to configure my VPS directly through SSH. I also asked if he can install all of it and if he can try to optimize it immediately? He said it would take some time. So I immediately said that I would want to install it myself since I really need to have my VPS available because my Website has been acting weird on my previous host. After a few minutes I received the email for my root password for my VPS, I quickly checked my VPS and he already installed lighttpd and MySQL. ( Note: I know how to install them I just want to check if they would install it for me ) I also asked to have my Reverse DNS set up and they immediately set it although it took 2 days to propagate.

    Control panel

They are using their own Control panel named HeartBeat its very simple. One thing I found is they have the debug output turned on because when I tried to restart my vps while it is already restarting it showed me the error messages which should not be normally shown. I informed them about it and they immediately responded that they would let their developers fix it. I dont know if they already fixed it since I never used it until now. ( I dont need to ).

    Price

Comparing with other vps providers their price is really affordable. You can also have a Custom plan with them if you think their plan is not what you need of course with still great price.

    Downtime

With regards to the server being down unexpectedly, NONE. My site has been down only when I asked them to move my VPS to their new servers in LA. It is also very nice that they can accommodate my request to move my VPS in the time I want to minimize the effect of it to my site viewers.

    Support

Always online on IM and on their live chat in their website (very nice). Rav the owner of the company can help you right away if you encounter any problem with your VPS. He really knows what he is doing he really answers your questions and problems professionally. I once had a problem logging in to SSH because I locked my SSH to my IP and when my VPS was transferred my IP was changed and so it would not let me in. I quickly filed a ticket and my problem was fixed in minutes.

    Performance

The performance of the VPS was really great, it was fast and the download speed was very fast now for my Asian visitors since my VPS was moved to LA. My site never slowed down unlike in my previous host wherein it would slow down to a crawl when I am backing up my database.

    More

Well Last week I planned on moving to another VPS provider since I got a very nice offer. So I informed Rav about my plan on moving to a new host since I already paid for my second month with them hoping I can still refund it, Rav asked me why I wanted to move to a new host and if there are other things that they can do to make me stay as their client. And so I told him I got an offer with higher specs and lower price with my current VPS. And So he hapilly gave me an offer for an upgrade on my RAM with no extra costs but he said he can not lower the price further, That is fine with me, I also asked if he can also add more Storage space and he also agreed. So I did not continue my plan in moving to a new VPS provider. By the way my vps is a custom plan so that is maybe the reason why he agreed on giving me free upgrades.

I am really satisfied with them you really get what you pay for. I strongly recommend http://www.6sync.com if you are looking for a XEN VPS you will get RAID-10 storage, 1000 Mbit connection, superb network providers, and their servers and your VPS is managed by Xen experts.

Results are decent but would say probably 70% of host out there can by far beat this score from mid 200's to mid 400's.

What do you mean by that? Does lower score means better? sorry but I still do not know how to read the results And I think you should also consider that this is a XEN VPS which some says is slower.

I believe jamjam runs a busy forum on his VPS and I'm sure he didn't turn it off when he ran his benchmark This along with the burst specifics of his plan naturally affects his score. Here's a result from another VPS on the same node I just ran:

Obviously there was no load on this one, so it gives you a better idea of what you can expect 'out of the box'. But ultimately we're all about providing consistent high perforance across all customers with our Xen tuning parameters.

But here's a no-load test run just for fun :-)

I haven't used 6sync (yet) but I've had a good conversation with Rav and the organization seems very customer focused.
