You could try faxing them but I'd not put much faith in them answering.

You might ask the datacenter if they can help you get your backups.

As their own site is down it looks likely they have done a runner mate.

The best thing to do would be to get new hosting and upload any back ups you have then start a fresh.

People have pointed out veridian problems...

you can try to grab it using either google cache or wayback machine.

go to google and type the following replacing the web domain name with the domain you need.

    cache:web-domain-name

    alternatively try...

    http://www.archive.org/index.php

only other option is to tell the datacentre of the problem you face with dismissal if you can't get that site's backup and appeal to their good nature.

    cheers

Very sorry to hear this. It is a very bad kind of approach from a host. But atleast keep your own back ups in future. It seems data centre may not be able to help you also since you are not a direct client of them. Any way giving a try is good than doing nothing. Hope you can find out a way to get out of this situation.

Did you try Google Cache or Archive.org?

At least this is a learning experience. Always need to have multiple copies of your files everywhere.
ManageMyServices was sold by me in September 2009. I no longer have any affiliation with this company.

How bad / important is the sites to you? Perhaps you could offer to pay this months fee to bring the server back online. I can't see why they would or could refuse a bill being paid. Any and all company accept payments towards anyone's bill from anyone. Then you can backup.

Perhaps contact the owner directly and offer to pay ha;f or all the fees for the month just for a backup.

It's a VERY extreme measure, but if it's that critical and important to you, it may be worth it.

It's pretty sad to see a host do this without even contacting the clients.

Happens way too often in the summer. But alas, school is starting again soon.

Learn from this experience - always have an automated backup system that runs at least daily. If your data is important, this is a required step for any hosting situation.

Did the server fail or did the provider just "disappear". Your original post makes it sound like the server had a hardware failure and your data was lost (in which case there is likely no chance of ever getting your data).

Yep, sucks when hosts do this, and i've seen too many do it. But...always, always keep backups locally of all files. Because you never know what might happen.

Probably, Does sound like it. However, Mike does also have a point that the OP did make it sound as if the Server crashed and data was lost. Though I cannot access their site at all

This is email that I got from iWeb, after contacting them several times. Good news is that WHM is working, and bad... well cPanel for accounts don`t. HDD is 100% full and I`m working with iWeb support what I can. So, people - download your data from FTP whatever you can. This is only 24h offer. I said 100x thanks to guys from iWeb. This is very rare to see.
