What's the most you've ever paid to register .com?

I'm trying to remember years ago how much it was to get a .com domain name before all for all of the GoDaddy's, et.al.

I think around 1999, 2000 era they were about $50? But I just can't remember.

How much did you have to pay for them at the dawn of the internet?

I think it would be more interesting to see how much anyone has paid for a domain ever.
I have paid 850$ for a .org once..

Network Solutions started charging domain registration since 1995 at a rate of $100 per 2 years; it was later lowered to $70 (again per 2 years) in 1998.

I remember being billed about $2,500 one September morning back in 1999 when I picked up 35 or so expired domains.

My first one was also around 2000 with register.com. I think it was $35 per year.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm am trying to convince a political candidate to register histname.com, and the guy only wants $250 to get it.

I was wanting to put things into perspective for him.

As my memory is refreshed, I think I think the netsol price used to be $35 circa 2000, which is where I started playing this game.

I guess I lost that brain cell.

    thanks guys!

Some people are paying a lot for a domain back then..

When I started out, I bought a shared hosting package and a domain for $20 USD.. guess it wasn't bad.. The company was great and helped me with 24/7 live support..

We have seen clients with past bills up around 35.00 before we took over their domain needs

Those prices are long in the past for most but some get dragged in not knowign what the new pricing ranges are
