    * Your experiences with hosts

I am looking for a good, cheap and fast shared hosting provider. I have scoured the internet for providers but I have found it hard finding reviews for any of them. I am just wondering, based on your experience with each company...who would YOU (personally) recommend?

    Thanks for any replies

I suggest you to serach the Web Hosting Talk forum for reviews(here you can find great and honest reviews because affiliate links are forbidden). And you could also search WHT web hosting offers

One can go nuts searching for a host. These days the best way is just to search by doing. Pick one you like and try them. At only a couple to a few bucks a month, the cost is minimal and you can rely on your own "internal" review.

I've had positive experiences with HostGator in the past and as such I would recommend them

    Hi,

personally I would suggest Knownhost to you: excellent support, fast and reliable servers. They aren't one of the 1$-hosts, but rock-solid and what they offer you truly have - they don't oversell. I'm with them now for nearly two years and they haven't let me down once.

I would recommend you to search box and get reviews like everyone said. Also dont get caught by the Unlimited Disk Space some hosting providers offer, such as Hoatgator.

Fair enough. Remember you get what you pay for.
I have scoured the internet for providers but I have found it hard finding reviews for any of them.
If you do a little bit more looking I am sure you would find some, Seriously it is not that hard to find one.

Can i ask, Which hosts you are interested in?
I am just wondering, based on your experience with each company...who would YOU (personally) recommend?
Well it depends on what you are after, What your requirements are, What your budget is, What features you are going to be utlising with?

As far as I can recommend is KnownHost which offers VPS as such and are quite good.
However, I could recommend Hostgator as one of the big boys of the trade of having a good experience with them back in the day.

Please, do not look for cheap host, unless you want to get expensive headache. As an old proverb says - "You get wha you pay for". We in Lithuania say - "the greedy person always pays twice".
I have experience with Downtownhost and Totalchoicehosting.
Dowtownhost: big resources, multi-site hosting for a reasonable price (7$ a month if paid for 1 year). Their representative at WHT is Jedito, very friendly person. However, recently they increased given resources (some 10 Gb disk, 100 Gigs bandwith) which seems to be an overselling for me.
Totalchoicehosting: realistic resources, single-site hosting, reasonable price (44$ yearly, 4$ monthly), helpfull staff that always answers every question both on live chat, forum or PM at WHT.
I think, both companies are worth to use.

Be weary of hosting review sites and most directories. A lot of them are run by hosting companies themselves.

I second Hostgator. They rock. 45 day money back guarantee, so, you can't really loose, and have enough time get a good feel for them.
