CPanel/WHM taking a VERY long time to install??

Hey guys, ive installed Cpanel many times before on probally over 100 servers (i dont really count ),

Now over the past few days, its been taking nearly 4-6 hours to install on customer VPS's here in the UK. I no the performance of the VPS has alot to do on installing, but usually it takes no more than 2 hours. So ive tried increasing processing power + ram of VPS, but no good. Ive even contacted our Network Provider to see if there restricting connections to Cpanel and it appears not.

But now i dont believe this is my fault or network. Is Cpanel Having issues?

Im trying to install Cpanel on a dedi server in france (different network) with a Quad 2.66 Xeon processor 12GB (2x300gb 10,000rpm HD's) and its now be just over 3 hours.

Is anyone else experiencing longer times of installing for Cpanel?

Best,
Nathaniel

A lot of the installing of cPanel is downloading, it could be cPanel's servers/networks are slow at the moment?

I'm not aware of any issues with our update servers. However, feel welcome to submit a ticket.

On rare occasion, servers in a facility may try to use mirrors that are far away geographically - thus making installation times much longer than they should be. Our technical analysts can correct that on your servers and let you know how to copy those changes to new servers you provision.

We are getting the same issue here in Canada... We are installing 2 dedi with cPanel and it's taking more than 2 hours ++ ! Usually it does not take more than 40 min.

By chance is expectperlinstall (I think thats the process) using a large amount of CPU? Seen that a few times lately with the cPanel installer which would explain why installs are so much slower now.

Yes it can take quite long time depending its depends on your server speed and network speed. If it takes more than a few hours though you may want to check further into this.

Well atleast im not the only one. By the way, the server in france was on a 1GBIT connection (tested, i could pull about 800mbit off it) and the VPS are on 100mbit so i can pull that,

It must be something with Cpanel

It is a little slower than usual - been noticing that for a couple of weeks.

But if you're taking 4-6 hours then it'll be something to do with the route it's taking and your provider - I've done two today from the UK - neither have taken more than 2 hours to d/load, install, do the initial configuration, install our addons and start a cpupdate

Ok, so we can safely say that theres not a problem with my network, (network i use in france) and various other networks and its a problem with the Cpanel Installer.

Best,

We had similar issues and we thought its with the network speed and stuff like that, but installation took more time leaving us in dark not sure what was wrong. So we had to re-create the vps with devel packages for centos and did a yum update before we can install cpanel. It went fine for us after that.
