Hello Lee,
Welcome to the forums!
My first and foremost question would be, is there any specific reason to choose a dedicated server from the get go? Won't a shared account or a virtual server not work? Unless offcourse you do have the budget for a dedicated server and need it if your website and/or application are resource intensive.

As im totally new to this idea in support of the petition could you explain what 'shared account or a virtual server' actually is? I was just thinking isnt it called dominame or something that you but as the url on your website? There are only 2 of us that run the campaign which is quite well known around the soap world online!

Jason, I think he just phrased that he wants a dedicated site for his cause; not that he wants to use a dedicated server.
leelad05, shared account is basically you are sharing a server with others (it's the cheapest form of webhosting).
There are a lot of host who actually can help you with what you need. Though, first what is your budget on the webhosting aspect and do you have any storage or bandwidth requirements?
Next, it would be helpful to also list your budget if you want someone to design it for you.
Lastly, try Find a Host button at the top also to get a rough idea of some hosts.

I personally used to love Brookside (It should be brought back heh!) - Some of the stories were very funny!
I'm not sure you'd need a dedicated server also as i'd assume you won't be carrying any of the episodes as they will be copyrighted.
I'd suggest you choose a host in the UK with that being your target audience

I have been having a look, but how does my website be recognised on the likes of google at the top etc? from search results on 'Brookside'?

Using metatags and image titles that are relevent to your sites content, easy to follow navigation (text links not images) those are just a few ways - getting to the top for a search term is hardwork however with Brookside no longer on people's screens it will be easier to get into the top 10 than say a site about Coronation Street or Eastenders.

Are you hosting the video content yourself or linking to another server where they already exist (such as youtube)? If it's the latter, I'd suggest just hosting the site via a shared hosting plan. Is it important to you to have the site hosted in the UK? There are many competitive deals out there, but I am only familiar with companies in the US.

I would say find a managed web hosting plan as the host should then help you out with your site.

i totally agree it was good but ive gradually stopped watching. Hosts in the UK will give you a faster loading time.

Remember the Scottish guy Ross in early Brookie (the nurse)....his gal..can't remember her name...she was pretty.
Jimmy Corkhill....the loveable rogue.
