Webalizer and Awstats showing different stats
So I've run webalizer for a few months on my site, and I was satisfied with the traffic.. 2200 some unique visitors in june and july and growing, and about 80000 hits in june and 50000 hits in july.
But out of curiosity I ran awstats on the exact same logfile, and that is showing 900ish uniques for june and july, and 40000 hits on those months.
I think in webalizer unique visitors is simply counting how many different IP's there are. But in awstats this doesn't seem so.
Can someone explain to me the differences in these software analyzers and what statistic I should be considering as most accurate?
I would agree with webalizer that uniques = Unique IP's.
