iowait causing high load
In my server iowait is causing high load, how do we find out which are all users taking memory that could cause my server to use swap memory.
server : linux centos/Cpanel
I have tried the below commands, but how do we locate user specific,
ps aux --sort -vsz | head -25
Use command top to find the processes consuming more cpu or memory.
Use top command to sort the process in the order of memory and cpu.
Press cntr+p to sort in the order of cpu
Press cntrl+m to sort in the order of memory
Use 'nice top -c' and then press 'f' in the keyboard.
This will list the fields selected/deselected.
Make sure that the fields PID,USER,RUSER,PPID are selected.
After that sort the top command's result (shift +M -> memory sort and shift +P -> CPU).
Check the command and corresponding USER and RUSER fields.
It seems you got the wrong key "cntrl"
Yep, it should be "shift". Thank you for the correction
