It's always worth to pay for a powerful billing script such as WHMCS. It's so feature-rich and easy to use, and the price is low: just $12.95/mo via LicensePal. You get a free domain reseller from either eNom or ResellerClub via them.
However, if you insist on going for a free billing system, I suggest you try PhpCoin.bikster.com - Quality Hosting. Affordable Prices.

If you can't be bothered to spend $12.95 a month for a decent billing system, you shouldn't be in hosting IMO. We tried all the free options and they were all crap (including phpCoin, which was probably the best of the worst).

PHPCoin is full of bugs, a quick search on Google will show you them all.
Take a look at cpcreator.net, I used it in the past but that was before the development was took over by someone else.SharedGrid | Fast, secure, and reliable UK web, reseller and VPS Hosting

IMO If your not willing to pay for a secure billing solution then you should not really be getting into this industry.
Paid software (ie: whmcs & parallels billing) are tested for security and holes to stop attacks, patches are distributed almost instantly. With free software, holes are normaly reported by the community after a number of attacks happen and patchs take forever to be released.Adam Hoban.

There is no any decent free billing script - price should not be an issue, you can get whmcs or ce for free with some reseller packages or as low as 5$ per month.
I totally agree. Hosting is professional ... freebies are not.▌ Managed.gr cloud hosting, paas, vps, dedicated, domain registration on global datacenters.

I've tried in the past phpcoin and cpcreator. cpcreator is nice looking but sometime very slow. then i've switched to ihost, his price is affordable and i'm quite satisfied with it.

Hello!
I have used phpcoin in the beginning, but i didn’t like the same the very next day removed the same from my server and shifted to phphostbot. I didn't find any problem related to operation with phphostbot. You can try the same it is also not that costly.
Regards,
Ritesh Jain

I don't see the point of this. This has been brought up before, and as it stands now and probably for the foreseeable feature, there is no free good alternative billing systems to CE, or WHMCS.
If you cannot afford the system that is going to handle your billing, support, and account creation, you don't need to be doing hosting, period.

The best free host billing script out there is Agilebill. I have it as my billing software and never had a problem with it

For the beneficial features you may want to actually look for a 'paid script', WHMCS being my favorite, Hostbill being another average one for my liking... PHPCoin, I would not recommend, after all the issues I had with them not so long ago!
Some providers offer them freely, so you might want to check these services out, Hostgator does offer WHMCS for free use on their reseller packages██ l Dedigeeks • Shared • Wordpress • Dedicated • Established 2006
