Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 licensing question

My friend is starting a streaming site but doesn't have $1000 right now to put down for Flash Media Streaming Server. Anyone have any idea's on how he can get monthly plan until he pays it off? or any other ideas. He has sent an email to Adobe.

use red5 (http://osflash.org/red5) free, opensource allow you to stream videos. Also you can use lighttpd or nginx web server to steam flv files.
