    Cpanel DNS not working correctly

Hello. I have a problem with the DNS on my server.
Everytime I add a account to my server, the DNS says the domain is setup with the IP 192.168.1.5.
I have the nameservers setup correctly on the domain however I can only access this website from the server only.
Do I have something setup wrong somewhere?

In "Basic cPanel/WHM Setup" is the Virtual Host IP meant to be a LAN address?

    Thanks for the help!

In your Basic cPanel/WHM Setup, in the section for Virtual Host IP, you have to give the primary ip of your server.

Also there will be an option for you to enter

Primary Nameserver & Secondary Nameserver in your Basic cPanel/WHM Setup. Have you entered it
    correctly?

    Yes, I think I have.
Does the Virtual Host IP have to be the LAN IP of the server, or the external IP?

I have the Primary and Secondary nameservers setup correctly.
    Thanks!

    Ok thanks.
Although the website can now be accessed, it only shows the "Apache is working on your cPanelŽ and WHM™ Server" page.

Any idea how to make the website link to it's area?

    Thanks.

    Hello DawnHosting,
Go check your document root for your domain inside the httpd.conf, it should be something like /home/user/public_html.

or else run the script /scripts/easyapache to fix this.

That's usually caused when the IP of the virtual host does not match the IP in the DNS zone. Use the "change site IP" function in WHM to ensure it's on the correct IP if you haven't done so since you changed the IP set in your "Basic cPanel/WHM Setup" section.

Thanks. I've tried rebuilding apache and I've checked the DNS and sites IP addresses; they match.

    Could it be something else?
    Thanks!

It's the same IP as the website.
    I can't understand why it won't work.

Oh, when I change the site IP, there is an option to change it to:
    "192.168.1.5 [Main Address]"

Should 192.168.1.5 still be the main address?

192.168.1.5 will not be your main ip. Have you set it to 192.168.1.5 in WHM Basic/cPanel setup .Can you attach the your WHM Basic/cPanel setup here.

It will be mostly same as the ip with which you are accessing your WHM

It's not setup in "WHM Basic/cPanel setup".
    Only my external IP is.

Is there a way to manualy remove the IP 192.168.1.5, because I can't remove it in "Show or Delete Current IP Addresses".

It's like WHM thinks it's my Virtual Host IP.

    Thanks.

You cannot remove IP addresses that are in use. You must first remove the accounts they are associated with or switch the domains to a new IP address.

There arent any accounts with that IP.
Could there be anything else which uses the IP?
