    ellendomq,

Always Keep a backup of your account in your local computer.

Assigned permissions of 755 for directories and 644 for files.

    Thank you

Keep your wordpress installation updated to the latest version. You can take care by keeping your blog software and plugins updated and creating good, strong passwords along with frequent backups.

In addition to what inspiron said, make sure all files on your domain have a maximum level of 644 permissions and all directories have a maximum level of 755 permissions.

Few steps you should take care of:

    1. Upgrade the softwares/applications like blog, forum etc to its latest version.

    2. Change the password of cpanel/ftp accounts to a stronger one.

    3. Ensure that the permission of files are set to 644 and and folders to 755
