Unless you need to for a specific purpose, or to address a security threat, you should give it a couple of weeks to a month before adopting a new PHP release. This gives them a bit more time to work out any bugs and or kinks.

No bugs that we know of yet. If you're on something like cPanel, then it's a breeze to update to 5.2.10 with the easyapache scripts and then downgrade if you run into troubles.

However if you're on an OS that requires quite a bit more manual intervention to upgrade/downgrade, I'd be a bit more careful.

If you are running any Control Panel, check if the new PHP version is supported.

I am not sure about Plesk, but it is available in Cpanel

The 5.2.10 version has high security features and over 100 bug fixes. So if your CP allows, you can go ahead with the upgrade.

There was several bugs that prevented cpanel from rolling it out instantly. But they have created work arounds.

If you are compiling by hand there are a couple bugs that you may run into depending on features you add, the most common bug is the bug with phar + curl wrapper support.

PHP 5 is quite a bit better than PHP 4 with new features, new extensions, etc and most scripts (if not all scripts) are fully compatible with it.

Did you really have to say that? You forgot the fact that php 4 is EOL and not developed anymore.

When PHP 5.2.7 was released, there was a severe security vulnerability in it that was discovered 3 days later. It is best to give these releases time to become tested, especially if there is not a feature in the latest release that you absolutely need.

That's certainly subjective, but I imagine you're correct in that the OP likely won't have any issues with it.

Hello I would suggest you to upgrade PHP to 5.2.10 as its a upgraded version and has many bugs fixed.

The performance also is better to what I have observed.
