var sidebar_align = 'right';
var content_container_margin = parseInt('350px');
var sidebar_width = parseInt('330px');
how to prefix a www
One of our clients website runs only if we give the domain name with http and www and domain name
When we give just http and the domain name it shows 404
Can some one help me how to change it so that it will take with www and without www?
I am not able to post link am a very new member here.
Can you please check the website bindings (or host headers) in IIS for the domain (assuming IIS since your post is in Windows forum)? With most possibility, you must be having a missing host header without www in which case, you will need to add host header for 'domain.com'.
Tried this. - but bad luck :(
Thanks for the quick reply.
We had one host header with www domain com.
I had added another host header with domain without www, but that didnt work out!
What can be the reason?
Have you selected correct IP address / port as well? It could be dns cache issue. Can you try accessing from some other network or if you can post the URL here, we can check it for you.
THanks again for the quick reply
the url is - acacia-africa[dot]com
it works with www
We tried it accessing from another net work and it gives same result!
I really appreciate for Your efforts
Your DNS seems to be messed up. I can see that your domain is pointing to different IP's with and without www:
You seems to be superfast! Simply great!
Yes we saw that. Is there any solution for this? How can we rectify it?
You will need to ensure that your A record for * and CNAME record for www points to the same IP address of your web server.
I think its DNS problem, you can contact to your Internet service provider or
the hosting support provider that manage the DNS server currently listed for your account.
A record for domain name and CNAME record for www points to the same IP address of your web server.

There are few things that you need to check:
- make sure that your IIS host header has BOTH www.yourDomain.com and yourdomain.com
- make sure that you set the CNAME record of your www.yourDomain.com to yourDomain.com
- please PING your domain and make sure that all resolve to the correct and intended IP Address
Hope this helps
