    DDOS Filtered Server needed

    Hi,

I need a Dedicated Server with DDOS Filtering.
My website has about 5000-7000 Visits per day.
Got any good hosts for me?

    Best regards,
    Andi.

Honestly, if you are looking for a linux server, in that case, IPtables can be configured as per your requirement and you do not need to pay additional for the same. However, you can also look out for Proxy shield protection.

iptables won't help against a bandwidth flood

IPTables won't stop any real attack.

Some of the best DDOS Protected Hosts to check:
    Gigenet / Staminus.Net / SharkTech.Net / Awknet.Com

You won't go wrong with any of those providers.

    Best regards,
    Andi.
Or, you can run HAProxy on 80, redirect to 81 locally (deny all others) and use HAProxy to mitigate.
    Why pay someone else?

Provided you have the pipes to do it.

If the pipes fill up, you're toast.

Absorbing an attack is all about oversizing everything.

Just an option without the price tag. Works quite well, actually.

Giga/Staminus is probably going to be the best pick.

SharkTech has fairly good filtering depending on the attack. They aren't built for SYN attacks but otherwise, definitely not a bad service.

My guess is you're not getting *real* attacks. This sort of thing is just buying you time. It may work on small attacks but if the attack is large enough, the server won't respond to login/deny the attacks. (Welcome to Livelock) DDOS mitigation or real protection is about removing the load from the server so it doesn't affect performance of the system. This does neither of those.

I have seriously used them all trying doing high risk hosting. I finally landed at staminus where I have been ever since. They hands down are the best ddos protected provider. never will your server get consumed as far as bandwidth attacks, They dont rate limit protection either like some who just choke the pipe and let the rest come through. I would say they have 80-90% filtering on their basic protection.

You cant beat their custom firewall, attacks alerts and stats either. I would not have made it in business had I not stayed at staminus.

There are lots of tutorials out there for mitigating ddos at server level, simply google something like "how to stop ddos with iptables"

You just got to have plenty of memory and lots of available bandwidth but like everyone else said if your pipe gets consumed then there is nothing that can be done by you.
