It's a bit much for one person, isn't it?
How you would be able to manage yourself on all those screens, I dont know.
Still, nice office!

That is pretty rad. With time and money I think I'd do something similar for a home office - though probably not as many servers in the "IT closet", it's gotta get hot up there!

That's very inspiring.
I always thought I'd end up with a home/office like that when I ran my own company, and once I was in the position to do it I just never felt like it was the best use of funds. From reading the blurbs on his site it seems like he actually uses most of it. I ended up rolling my extra money into hiring more people instead.
As a programmer, I'd feel a bit strange if I was doing anything for a living that couldn't be done from any location on the planet with my laptop and Internet access. If I had to work from one spot I may as well be in charge of a factory.

Does seem a bit excessive - I don't think I could handle more than 4 monitors simultaneously myself - but there are numerous studies that have been done that show that multiple monitor configurations increase efficiency greatly, especially for programmers who can segment their work across multiple screens without having to hunt for and refer to code running beneath windows on a single screen. Rather than hunt they just look over, make changes, run the code on another screen, go back to the other screen and so on rather than hunting through windows.
Of course the time to drag your mouse to the other screens might be another matter altogether for a 2048x10,240 screen

Wow I love that website
http://www.deskography.org
I was looking some ideas on my office. I spend 100 hours a week in there so my ofice looks similar on someway cheaper of course.
That office really rocks but I would had spend more on the chair.
Monitor, keyboard, mouse, chair. Thats probably the things you have to invest more if you use the office allot. Lights are also very important but that he got it perfectly.

I second that, I would probably never leave home to go to work.

It's a very nice office. But its an office for like 3 people. Why have a snack bar? Having all of those monitors would I think be more overwhelming then anything. Still a kick ass office
On a side note I cant help but wonder all said and done how much that office cost him.
