What do people want? as well as PayPal
Hi all,
We are looking into more payment methods at the moment for some of our services.
What do people want.
I would love to have one of everything but basically at the moment its too much of a pain, money all over the place so i want it cut down to 2-4 accounts at the most.
We only have paypal at the moment, what do you guys think?
Thanks everyone.

Accepting credit cards yourself gives you a lot of apparent professionalism.
Correct me if I'm wrong; you appear to be a UK-based company hosting in the US and accepting US dollars. Presuming that's true you should also offer credit cards directly, possibly through WorldPay. They allow you to accept credit cards in many currencies and have their own gateway so you don't have to store credit cards (which makes you liable for lots of new rules) and they integrate well to your website.
If I'm wrong and you're a US-based company you can use either PayPal Pro, which also allows you to accept credit cards yourself without your customers realizing PayPal has anything to do with it, but only in US dollars. Or you can use a regular merchant account with any provider; we recommend e-onlinedata (no connection with us); they use Authorize.Net.

I've had people pay with Moneybookers, direct credit card (via merchant account) and Google Checkout too. No one bothers with AlertPay or E-Gold anymore, from my limited experience with various businesses.

You should consider looking into Moneybrookers and Google Checkout.

I had Google checkout, Alert Pay and used Propay. Also had a merchant account, but it seems the only one people used was Paypal and direct check payments (we allow this for non-profit groups)
