Need a VPS to send out BULK EMAILS

Looking to send out 5k-10k emails a few times a day, does anybody do this? If so which VPS do you recommend? Also, how do you change your IP's? do you use a script?

    Thanks!

I'm guessing if you're changing IP's then this is spam? You won't find any companies that are going to allow this sort of thing in their TOS. Even if you did buy a VPS without the knowledge of the hosting company, it wouldn't be long before they find out, suspend you, and possibly attempt to prosecute you.

If this is not unsolicited spam then can you provide a little more information of what you're doing with this? 5-10k a day is pretty insane. If this is legal email (due to some sort of large company emailing subscribers) then there are companies that provide this service. But we'd need more information to point you in the right direction.

I agree, this has all the markings of a spam factory. I would suggest that any host foolish enough to provide you such a VPS had best ask you quite a few questions and monitor the VPS to dump you as soon as it becomes apparent that it's spam.

Any host that allows this would either a) quickly find their netblock(s) listed by a number of DNSRBLs or b) already has their netblock(s) listed and doesn't care.

Well the nice thing is that any competent host will stop your spam pretty quickly and suspend your account. More then a few already put hard limits on the quantity of e-mails you can send anyway.

Now that would be a service addon, where you can not only do a fraud check on a customer but they will be checked for any previous instances of mass spamming, etc....

I'm guessing that the desire to change IPs on a regular basis would likely be spam...

Sending 10k in emails a day is not all that hard to do, without it being spam related.

For example, we have a small email list (25-30 people on it) that receive weather warnings from the NWS (National Weather Service) via a bit of software we run. On a busy day with lots of severe weather, this software generates hundreds of alerts per NWS site (there are normally a couple per state), it's nothing for this software to generate 10k in emails a day with just 25-35 people on this mailing list that covers a small area of the country.

Clearly this group requested that this service be setup, and it's clearly not spam related, but does generate a ton of legit email traffic.

In another case we have a popular forum which generates email alerts for anybody subscribed to a topic they posted to... (This feature is enabled by default).... It's not out of the question for that site to generate 5k-6k of emails on a busy day in just topic email notifications, and we've never received a complaint from anybody about spam on that site...

There are very valid reasons to run 10k, 20k or more of email off of a server in a 1 day period. And to request the ability to send that kinda load shouldn't be an issue...

But again in this case it does smell like spam with the ability to change IP addresses automatically.

Not necessarily. Lots of organisations send out that type of volume.

We've had some occasional shady people come to us with what seem like valid requirements for a VPS but you can be sure that it will be visible that you're sending spam as soon as you start it.

If it IS legitimate then you should give more info on what you're sending such as the content and organization involved.

Read above - they want the ability to randomly change the IP address - that is usually a good indication of unsolicited mail.

Right if you read the ENTIRE post it's the volume of messages and the desire to know how to quickly (and automatically?) change IP addresses. If it smells like....

What's the bet he comes back in a few weeks and complains about how some host unfairly disconnected his VPS "for no reason!!".

The problem with the mass email is not about resources but the spam, as there is a chance that your IP could get blacklisted.
