Windows CP Options Needed
Hey guys, we're looking to launch an ftp hosting service and are looking for a Windows CP with the following features:
-- Manages Windows servers, if Linux also it's a plus but Windows is required.
-- Recurring Paypal billing. Other billing options are nice extras to have.
-- Administers multiple servers through one CP interface.
-- Non-steep learning curve, CP solution must be simple and stable.
-- Low initial investment. Either cheap purchase or low monthly rental necessary.
-- Vibrant support and community.
-- Preferably has a nice built-in support ticket system.
-- In case it helps, we won't be offering email or dynamic webpage hosting services, only ftp hosting along with http access to hosted files.
Launch date is approacing soon so any help you can provide would be much appreciated...Thank you!

It doesn't seem to be possible to edit posts..
-- Ability to offer add-on upgrades of disk space, transfer bits, and logins.
Note: we have found a CP that we'll most likely use but wanted to make sure we didn't miss an opportunity that someone else may know of...Thanks again.

Dotnetpanel combined with WHMCS is a great combo. DNP has its own billing but its pretty basic. No ticket support either so WHMCS is the perfect compliment and WHMCS supports DNP. Great support and low startup costs. Also continually adding new features. Full Windows 2008 support, Exchange, Blackberry, MS Dynamics, Sharepoint etc etc.

Ultima_VPS, thanks for the reply. We were considering using Hosting Controller, do you know how WHMCS+DNP compares to HC? At first glance it seems that WHMCS+DNP is a more complex solution but maybe there's a definitive advantage going that route... You don't happen to have a link to the docs for installing WHMCS on Windows + DNP integration do you?

No. They're fairly good.
If you setup a server they'll install it for free and you can play around with a trial license.HostGuard.net - VPS Control Panel

I read somewhere that WHMCS is unable to requisition resources for addons automatically when used in conjunction with DNP, can someone confirm whether that's still the case?

You should contact WHMCS regarding this by submitting a ticket.
We had a few issues with DNP when the module was first released and was told that DNP wasn't officially supported so we were stuck - we haven't bothered with it since then.

Thanks. While I'm waiting to hear back from WHMCS support on that, what billing alternatives exist that are 100% compatible with DotNetPanel provisioning, including Add-ons and suspensions?

That's correct. WHMCS does not provision addons automatically in DNP and this needs to be handled manually. However, suspensions/un-suspensions are handled perfectly by WHMCS + DNP.

I have never worked with AWBS (been using WHMCS only). However, upon checking their website, it appears that they do support DotNetPanel:

I've worked with DotNetPanel for a while now, it is indeed promising.
