    * Fantastico / Installatron / Softaculous ?

I have used Fantastico & Installatron on my Server.
But, now I have seen Softaculous and it is looking probably clean & neat then the other two.
So I want to know that whether anyone has tried them ?
Or do they have some security callbacks ?
Do your clients like it ? or do they hate it ?

Oh btw, the official site is http://www.softaculous.com/

first time I'm hearing of this. and it seems to be free....you could give it a try and let us know it goes - I might try it out myself...maybe even replace installatron with it if possible (although it's just saving a total of $10/month from our servers, not much at all but enough to get my interest )

Installatron is the best out there right now. Softalicious is still in the development states and many have installed it only to uninstall it later. It needs more development if it's going to be a real contender. Fantastico has followed in many market-leader footsteps. It was over-confident in its market position and has grown complacent and thusly has failed to innovate and compete at the new level. If it doesn't take note of what Installatron and others are doing, it's going to find itself the way of the dodo.

I agree with Scott, Installatron is amazing - it works perfectly and the package updates are released extremely quickly.

And knowing the installatron guys, they'll have a fix ASAP! They've always been open to exploit reports and other consumer input.

Yup, the reported issue does appear to have been fixed and an update was released earlier.

Installatron is definitely a great installer. We have tried Softaculous and it works quite good and the application's update are much faster than Fantastico, which is definitely a plus.

I tried to buy a yearly license of fantastico and got a refund because it was such a pain to install compared to installatron & Softaculous.

Then why not switch? Installatron is cheaper too for a better, more secure, product.

For me, I like Fantastico over the others. I didnt have any problem installing it. It's fast. You just need to update wget and that's it!

Installatron does not work with other cPanel skins. So if a client wanted cPanel X or other cPanel skin then it wont work. It currently works only in one skin and usually its for x3.

We used to run Fantastico and had such a trouble with it. It doesn't like the latest stable version of WGET for one and makes you install an older version so it can work, otherwise it doesn't update. It looks horrible and is a pain in the butt to administrate. On top of that, they update very infrequently and don't keep up to date with the latest stable releases of software.

Installatron is a god send, it's easy to admin, the team and extremely quick in releasing updates to both their software and they get the latest stable releases from vendors to you, which is great. I think it's going to be a while before we change to anything from Installatron, we are truly impressed (so much so we got a lifetime license).

    Hello,

Installatron should work for every cPanel skin. The integration method we use is pretty universal. If your experience is different open a ticket and we will be happy to assist.

Note every Installatron release is tested on x3 and RVSkin so I'm positive it works for RVSkin too.

    Cheers,
    Phil.
