    Unhappy title name missing on d:/ drive

    when i go or open d:/ drive only thumbnails are showing but not with titles like it shows in C:/ drive why is that what is missing ?

    what setting i need to save ?

    I am running windows xp on my laptop.

    Hmm, have you looked under Properties? Could it be set to show the folder as Pictures rather than Documents or similar?

    Probably something is corrupted.

    Try this: Open d:\ and click on Tools on top bar, click Folder Options, go to View and click on Restore Defaults/OK. If that doest solve it try restarting....if still nothing happens you may need to reinstall the OS

    is it not just an issue where you need to change the view type?

    Change it to icons or details and see if this solves the issue.

    Im running Vista so cant remember the exact steps for XP

    my operating system is windows xp sp3

    rajan i tried all the steps you said but nothing happens, in drive C:/ when i select thumbnails preview it shows filename with picture.

    I have no idea what's the problem but no harm trying something

    go to C:/ and Tools > Folder Options > View > Reset all folders > Close window and reopen

    also try this

    go to D:/ and View > Choose Details > Check if Name, Size, Type etc is ticked...normally Name cannot be disabled so something could be corrupted.

    yes i just clicked on restore to default closed and open drive d:/ again and everything is perfect now.
